So maybe it isn't exactly a burger, but...

...It came close.

I spent this morning caring for 8 one-year-olds.

Yes; eight.

For two hours.

I do that about twice a month (well, actually there are usually only 6 or 7 little folks, but still). I love being around little people, specially with my own siblings so grown up now, but I admit that 8 at once, for 2 hours can become a hassle quite easily.

This morning seemed rough, though there were times of laughter, too. One little girl made me pray for patience in a way I hadn't prayed in a loooong time. ...But another made me laugh.

All in all, however, I was exhausted by 12:00, and ever so hungry.

I mean really hungry, as in "if-I-don't-eat-in-five-minutes-I'll-start-sampling-the-edges-of-my-coat."

About ten minutes before 1:00, I sank my teeth into the most wonderful sandwich. Perhaps it was my hunger. Perhaps I was just glad to be sitting down. But I thought it was delicious.

It is a sandwich that tastes like a tuna burger. No grilling. No complex processes. Easy to fix - and fast. That's very important when you're starving. And it's yummy.

But don't just take my word for it. If you want to create your own, here are the ingredients:

~ Two slices of bread, or a hamburger bun
~ Canned Tuna, drained, and mixed with mayo, as if you were making a tuna sandwich
~ Lettuce
~ Cheese (a big, thick slice!)
~ Pickles (didn't have those today, but I KNOW they would have been good!)
~ Ketchup

Spread tuna-mayo mix on your bread, as if you're making a tuna sandwich. Add the other ingredients, turning the sandwich into a tuna burger. Tada!

.... I've mentioned this kind of sandwich to folks before, and they think it sounds terrible, but if you're really in the mood for a burger, and you're short on time, I urge you to try this. You just might love it!
