A "short" post, for once!
After two gigantic, long-to-read posts, I figure it's time to have a brief one on here. Y'all are good for putting up with me.
Of course, for all I know, maybe nobody's reading those long posts, anyway! :)
I've just finished washing a HUGE stack of dishes. It was my turn to wash Sunday dishes and, would you believe it? - yesterday afternoon, I rinsed and stacked everything, ...and put off the washing until this morning.
I had 66 dishes to wash this morning - not counting silverware. [cheese]. I'm really not that smart, am I?
I can't think of anything interesting to post about today, because everything going on inside my head is rather muddled at the moment.
Instead of talking, I'm going to ask you to talk. I need some help.
Question #1: When browsing many blogs, I find beautiful old fashioned pictures and paintings of women or girls. Do you know the kind I am talking about? They generally have lots of flowers in them, or white frilly dresses, and a strong play on light. The subject is generally in a pondering mood, perhaps with a book in her hand, or she's working hard in a flower garden, or she's dusted with flour from the lump of dough under her hands. Of perhaps she's writing a good old fashioned letter - on stationary.
Here are the best examples I could find on short notice, with the top and bottom pictures being the ones closest to what I'm talking about:
So... where do y'all find those things? I've looked all over, and I can't find a one on my own. I would love to garnish my blog with some of those kinds of pictures now and then, but I can't if I can't find them. :)
Question #2: Would any of my readers be interested in a series, hosted here, about how a daughter of God should strive to live? Her appearance. Her mannerisms. Her hobbies. Her speech. I'm not suggesting I know all these things; but I think it'd be a good thing to learn. Would any of you be interested in joining me? And if so, could you suggest a name for such a series? I keep drawing a blank when I'm considering a name. I'd appreciate both name ideas, and advice for the formulating of such a series.
Okay, so maybe this isn't such a short post after all?

Hey as for advice about the pictures, I don't know. But let me assure you I read them even if no one else does. I'm not sure about a title off the top of my head either.
I wish I knew the answer to your first question, Amber, as I have often wondered the same thing myself! I love those sweet, old-looking 'paintings'!
To the second question . . . I love the idea! It sounds like you are off to a great start in coming up with ideas of what to write about . . . how do you envision this series playing out? (I am not quite sure how to ask what I am thinking, so I hope that question makes sense enough! :)
Unfortunately I am of no help in coming up with a name . . . I have yet to be successful with naming anything save for a few chickens and rabbits (and those names were not very original either!) If you do decide to do this series, you will have at least one enthusiastic reader! :)
By the way, the long posts you wrote were read by at least somebody (myself :) and I know that a few of my family members read them too. :)
Concernign question #1, try allposters.com . They have many many paintings and such. All you have to do is right ckick on the picture, save on your computer, then post it on your blog. Hope you find some! I have been looking for pictures like that to, just haven't had to much time to look. :)
Thanks, Alethea Jordan; I'm glad that at least someone is reading those posts that are as long as a giraffe's neck. :)
Sarah; If I find a good source for images like that, I'll let you know. No, I don't think I understand your question for sure, ...I have no certain idea of length for the series yet, though lots of good topic ideas have occurred to me tonight over the dishpan. :) I am still praying and thinking over the plans for it, so I can't give you details at the moment. All I know is that I have peace about going ahead with the idea.
I'm glad you read those posts too - even if it took a little time. :) It always brightens my day to know you stopped by. :) And you surprised me with the news that other family members read my blog. Must be quieter than you? [wink] Please tell Leah hello for me.
Ashley; thank you for the suggestion - I will certainly check it out. Isn't it hard to find time for all the things you want to research on the computer? I find it so.
I thank you for your encouragement, ladies - it was partially what I needed to get creative juices flowing. I even had the first reasonably good name idea occur to me tonight. ...But I'm still wide open to suggestions!:)
I am sorry my question was not clear, Amber! My mind feels less muddled this morning so lets see if I can ask what I was wanting to ask in a clearer way! :)
The question was basically about what the series was going to be like . . . Were you envisioning the series to be articles? Discussion posts? Hints and tips? Hands on activity suggestions? ‘Assignments’? Whatever it is, it sounds like it will be wonderful and something that I know that I will benefit from!
Yes, [laughs] I do happen to be the more ‘vocal’ one in the family, but others from my family do read your blog. :) (I passed on your greetings to Leah :)
Hi! I recently discovered your blog and I love it. It is so encouraging, please, keep the long posts coming!
Here is an address to a beautiful art blog http://lovelywhatevers.blogspot.com/ Hope this is helpful.
~Marie~
Sarah;
Well, I suppose I can answer "yes" to all! I'd like to include a little bit of each of those things in the series - articles, discussion posts (including a Mr.Linky, if I can figure that thing out!), and hints and tips (ones from older wiser women than myself). Thanks for explaining your question more fully. Oh - and take a look at the art blog Marie recommends!
Marie,
Welcome to my blog! I'm so glad you commented. I told my sister "I just found out that I have another reader!!!!" Every single one of you brightens my day, and makes me eager to write more. :)And I LOVE the website. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Those are exactly what I was talking about.
The first thing I thought of in relation to a title comes from one of my life verses: Psalm 45:13. The title could be "The King's Daughter", or "All Glorious Within" or something like that. Of course, I won't be offended at all if you choose not to use that; those are only suggestions. :)
I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying your blog and am looking forward to the future posts in the series. . .as for pictures, I google for whatever I'm interested in (I especially like early American paintings) and click on 'images' and then save whatever I want to my computer and upload it to my blog.
I love the picture at the top of your current post today!
Thanks, Sarah Jane. Your encouragement is much appreciated. And I like the picture too - a lot!
